Alison M. Doherty is a Boston-based fine art photographer. She uses color, juxtaposition, texture, and the interplay of shapes to reveal the intersection between culture, class, and the universal connectivity of humanity.

Traveling to different cultures and reading communication theories from French philosopher and social theorist, Michel Foucault, and sociologist and mathematician, Johan Galtung, has influenced Alison’s artwork.  Her photography is a reflection on people’s interaction with their environments and how they navigate them using signs and symbols.
